In life, we sin,
doing things we aren't exactly proud of,
even though we know we shouldn't be doing them.
Or maybe, we run away from God.
We think that there are things that are more important than God,
and that we can live well without Him.
But we're wrong.
When we realize it later,
we try to pretend that everything's alright,
or we become too ashamed to come back to the altar,
thinking we are already tainted in the eyes of the Almighty.
But that is a bigger mistake in itself.
Because like the prodigal son,
no matter what we've done in the past,
God will always be there, always, to receive us with open arms.
He died for us, to wash away our sins,
and what He really wants,
is for us to know that we're in the wrong,
and go back to Him in repentance.
Who says we can't start over again?
We can begin with a clean sheet, if we choose to.
-2:40 AM
"Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;
my hope comes from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
My salvation and my honor depend on God;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge."
--Psalm 62:5-8
We are often faced with disappointments in life,
because everything is just so volatile and transient,
nothing lasts, and no one can be relied on, all the time.
But I can only take comfort in the fact that, my God, is an unchanging and ever-present God.
Whatever happens, He remains and He truly cares.
Seek God when you're at the lowest point of your life,
because He will definitely be there to bring you out of the darkness
and give you the strength to carry on.

Lord, if you want yo use these things to push me harder, forward,
let your will be done.
Lord, I promised you much, but little did I fulfill,
but all I know is I do not want to let you down,
or even myself, for that matter.
So onward, I will go,
till the ends of the Earth,
because I have nothing to lose, and everything to gain.
When all else fails, I see your light,
shining clearer and brighter than ever.
-2:36 AM
Our time on this Earth is short,
and none of us know when we'll leave this mortal realm.
Knowing this, we must learn to live life with a purpose, to serve God.
"You were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." --1 Corinthians 6:20
Everything we have are God-given,
and it is only right that we dedicate our lives to Him,
considering that He suffered so much for us.
Our lives may take on different paths,
that we may not expect or want,
but sometimes, we should look at it from a different perspective,
and think that maybe God has a purpose for every single thing that happens to us,
and we should make use of them to spread His gospel.
"To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me." --Colossians 1:29

Sometimes, you may think life is really unfair.
How some people don't deserve what they have.
Jeremiah thought the same way too, and his complaint can be found in Jeremiah 12.
Sometimes, we may not understand why God allowed certain things to happen,
but we must know that He is a just and righteous God,
that He keeps in mind who did good and who were bad.
But we should be glad He is a merciful God,
because we ourselves, and everyone else, needs His forgiveness.
God tells us,
"If you have raced with men on foot and they have worn you out,
how can you compete with horses?
If you stumble in safe country,
how will you manage in the thickets by the Jordan?" --Jeremiah 12:5
If we can't even handle minor issues like this,
how are we going to face tougher problems in life?
Life is never going to be easy,
and there are bound to be things that discourage you
and make you disillusioned and jaded,
but never give up,
because the Lord is with us.
All these tribulations are there for a reason,
to strengthen us and prepare us for the bigger things that are to come.
"I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." --Philippians 3:14

Hillsong Kids - Jesus In My LifeWhen things have got me down and no is around
I got Jesus, I got Jesus
When life's a mystery and peace is what I need
I got Jesus, I got Jesus
Everybody, everywhere
C'mon, C'mon, let me hear you sing
Everything Ok and everything's alright
'Cos I got Jesus in my life
If you've got Jesus in your heart come on and let me hear you say Woah
If you've got Jesus in your life come on and let me hear you say Wo Oh
If you've got Jesus in your school come on and let me hear you say Wo Oh Oh
If you've got Jesus in your heart come on and let me hear you scream

No matter how people think I'll fail,
No matter how it is too late for me to salvage this situation,
No matter how badly I'm faring right now,
All I can do now, is to trust Him, wholly.
Surrender my all to Him,
my hopes, my dreams, my worries, my anxiety, my insecurity, my fears, my inadequacy, my burden,
because other than that,
what else can I do?
Without Him, I'm nothing.

Chris Tomlin - How Can I Keep From SingingThere is an endless song
Echoes in my soul
I hear the music ring
And though the storms may come
I am holding on
To the rock I cling
How can I keep from singing Your praise
How can I ever say enough
How amazing is Your love
How can I keep from shouting Your name
I know I am loved by the King
And it makes my heart want to sing
I will lift my eyes
In the darkest night
For I know my Savior lives
And I will walk with You
Knowing You’ll see me through
And sing the songs You give
I can sing in the troubled times
Sing when I win
I can sing when I lose my step
And fall down again
I can sing ‘cause You pick me up
Sing ‘cause You're there
I can sing ‘cause You hear me, Lord
When I call to You in prayer
I can sing with my last breath
Sing for I know
That I'll sing with the angels
And the saints around the throne
-1:31 AM
I think I'm quite an unforgiving person.
Ever so critical of others, and never forgetting the wrongs they did to me.
But today, I read about the unmerciful servant in Matthew 18.
God showed mercy to him, but he did not exhibit the same kind of mercy towards others.
Jesus said, "This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart."
And I learn that,
I should really learn to have a forgiving heart,
and really let things go.
No matter how hard I hold on to something,
feeling I must make right that particular injustice,
in the end, nothing will come out of it.
Why waste so much effort and time on an insignificant wrong,
when God should be the one to judge,
duly passing reward or punishment.
Who are we, sinful beings,
who are so sinful ourselves, and in need of God's mercy,
to pass judgment and criticize others,
when we commit the very same sins.

Sometimes, when we read about the Bible,
we want to read about something that's applicable to our life at that point of time.
But that's not always the case,
because the Bible covers such a large range of topics,
and there's always something new to learn.
Then we learn that, maybe life is something larger than what's happening to you at that moment or period of time,
that maybe somethings we treat with utmost importance are in fact less worthy than we think,
maybe there is a greater purpose to our lives.
All Christians may find it hard to abide to the Word of God,
of course in the different aspects,
but we should not let them become a hindrance that prevents us from getting closer to God.
He has never forsaken us, it would be ridiculous if we choose to walk away from Him,
Simon Peter said, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." (John 6:68)
Three things we should keep in mind, when we consider our lives as Christians:
Commitment, Devotion, and Sacrifice.

Do you have any good friends in this world,
that would be always there for you while being a positive influence?
Or have you been such a good friend to someone else?
Life is a tough journey,
and we need friends to brighten our lives,
but more than that, we need someone who "loves at all times", even in times of "adversity". (Proverbs 17:17)
Let's take the first step by being a trustworthy Christian friend to others,
so others can gain strength and hope through us.

Luke 12:48, "From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded;
and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked."
I think I have been given much.
There may been low periods in my life, but the darkness never lingers for long.
God has always been there for me, bringing me through, and giving me things He feels are best for me.
Of course, I've cried hard at times, though rare,
but God always reminds me that He is there to share my burden and wipe away my tears,
and I really believe, that whatever happens, He has a greater plan for me.
Actually, I'm very thankful to God,
many people tend to ask God for things they want in their lives,
and of course, I do too,
but I don't think I ever insisted strongly,
or blamed God on why He is not responding or why He allowed horrible things to happen to me,
because I believe God does things in His time,
and truly, He is the only one who knows best.
Many times, I just pray and surrender my troubles to God,
and I let Him have the final say.
Even if things may seem to be irreversibly negative, it doesn't really matter,
because these earthly things really don't matter, the time God finally brings us back to Heaven.
I think in this verse, God wants to remind me,
that He gave me certain gifts in life,
not for me to waste them by misusing them and doing whatever I wish,
but for me to use them for His glory.
My A levels are just around the corner,
and I must admit, I am still not putting in my best foot forward.
I am unable to curb my temptations of using the computer, sleeping or sloth,
and there's really not much time left.
We only have one chance in life,
and I know I can't waste it like that.
Lord, I just pray that you grant me wisdom, strength, the ability to remember what is necessary for the exams, and the will to not yield to temptations,
I promise I shall do my very best,
and I won't let you down.

Revelation 21
1 I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth were completely gone. There was no longer any sea.
2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem. It was coming down out of heaven from God. It was prepared like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
3 I heard a loud voice from the throne. It said, "Now God makes his home with people. He will live with them. They will be his people. And God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or sadness. There will be no more crying or pain. Things are no longer the way they used to be."
5 He who was sitting on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down. You can trust these words. They are true."
6 He said to me, "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last. I am the Beginning and the End. Anyone who is thirsty may drink from the spring of the water of life. It doesn't cost anything!
7 Anyone who overcomes will receive all this from me. I will be his God, and he will be my child.
8 "But others will have their place in the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. Those who are afraid and those who do not believe will be there. Murderers and those who pollute themselves will join them. Those who commit sexual sins and those who practice witchcraft will go there. Those who worship statues of gods and all who tell lies will be there too. It is the second death."
This message may strike joy or fear in different people.
When the end of time comes, it shall be an extremely impressionable moment, where we can finally step into the heaven God has prepared for us.
All shall vanish, but the Lord and His Kingdom will remain.
We may be facing tough times on this Earth,
tribulations that constantly try to break us and tear us down,
that make us so weary we barely have time to turn back to our Lord,
but God promises us of a future with no more suffering or sadness,
He will give us eternal life, a new beginning.
All we have to do is believe.
It may also serve as a wake-up call.
How much do you love the people around you? or the world?
Are you going to leave them out of this wonderful salvation which is free?
Are we going to let people lose out because they don't know,
because you weren't willing to spread the gospel,
as you were afraid to, or you thought there were more important things than this or you didn't bother to explain further.
There are so many people that needs saving,
let's all play a part.
Every single person, can change the world.
Let's press on in life,
no matter how life seems to force us to our limits,
because we know there is something greater, ahead of us, for us to look forward to,
and that is the Lord's Kingdom,
where we will finally see God's face and live with him forevermore.
and there we will find rest and everlasting joy.

One of the things I lack, is friendliness.
To others who may not know me,
I either portray an aloof or introverted image.
I would think I'm rather shy at times,
but there are also occasions of elitism, though I'll hate to admit it.
Casting Crowns -
If We Are The BodyIt's crowded in worship today
As she slips in trying to fade into the faces
The girls teasing laughter is
carrying farther than they know
Farther than they know
But if we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching?
Why aren't His hands healing?
Why aren't His words teaching?
And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?
There is a way
A traveler is far away from home
He sheds his coat and quietly sinks into the back row
The weight of their judgmental glances
Tells him that his chances are better out on the road
Jesus paid much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the body of Christ
Jesus is the way
This song is very true.
Even for myself, I hope for a church where I could be close to my churchmates, more than anyone else in the world, and we could really trust and love one another.
Maybe I'm not playing my part,
I'm barely talking to anyone else in my church besides 2 girls.
It's really awful, and I hate it.
I'll pray Lord, that you can give me courage and charisma to be able to converse with others, especially strangers.
"Love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt." --Deuteronomy 10:19
We all need some love in our lives,
and while we surely want others to be amicable with us,
we too have to try our best to make friends.
Surely we'll be able to draw others more,
by showing others the warmth of Christians, that we truly care.
-12:57 AM
Lord, am I up to it?
I want to be a lawyer.
I'm not even sure if that's
what I want to be,
what I like,
or what I can be good at.
I just feel that maybe this is the right job for me.
I'm facing a huge dilemma right now,
I really don't want to make the wrong career choice.
Lord, only you know what I should be.
I'm grateful that you've been holding me by my hand,
and leading me through my ups and downs in life all this while,
always there paving my way, so I never worry.
But now, I just pray that you will
show me the way and lead me to it, soon.
Because without you before me, I'm lost.
I promise I'll glorify your name wherever I go.

Evangelism is important,
because we need to tell the world about the existence of the true God,
and how he is the only way to eternal life.
But besides having the passion to tell others about our God,
we need to be clear of what we are preaching.
As Christians, we are representative of our God,
so we have to be mindful or our actions and words.
Then it comes to knowing God's word.
If we ourselves aren't familiar with the Bible,
how do we expect to make others believe?

We are all such sinful people.
Often, we say or do things that are wrong,
even though we clearly know that we shouldn't be doing them.
But our Father in Heaven, is a forgiving and loving God,
he tells us "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sings and purify us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)
But we shouldn't take advantage of this,
instead we must learn to repent, and stop committing it over and over again.
"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin." --1 John 1:7
We must learn to stop yielding to temptations,
and strengthen ourselves from committing wrongs,
instead, let's lead a life of brightness that God will be pleased to see.
-1:48 AM
Lord, I'm afraid.
The world is facing recession right now,
and many people have been or are going to be affected by it.
It may be going to be the biggest recession in history,
and it is going to hit us all, negatively.
Maybe I should not worry too much,
because you told me that you'll provide my daily bread,
and will take care of me all my life.
I trust you on that.
But what I'm a tad worried about is my parents.
My family ain't well off, but I do not complain,
because thus far, you've provided me with more than what I could even imagine,
that I am enjoying life despite my worse financial circumstances compared to others.
I do feel guilty that maybe I spend more than what my parents can afford,
especially when they work so hard outside,
and sometimes, I don't reciprocate their struggles in work for me.
I pray really hard, that they will be able to survive past this recession period,
no matter how tough it may seem,
because considering society and their qualifications,
this could be the worst time for retrenchment.
I pray that you could bless them,
and carry them through this tough times.
In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

If we ever talk about obedience in the Bible, we tend to think of Abraham.
Just one word from God,
and he was willing to leave his homeland and family
and later, even sacrifice his son on the altar.
All of us know that we should listen and follow what God says,
but sometimes we end up doing things 'our' way,
perhaps because we are unable to trust fully,
or we think we know better.
But when it comes to God, we must learn to surrender ourselves fully,
and prevent anything from separating us from Him,
because really, He knows best.

-1:11 AM
My church's sermon today ties in with my quiet time's topic,
and I think it is a really true and important message.
My pastor went for a leaders conference overseas organised by the Anglican Diocese of Singapore that included deaneries from 6 other countries.
Each country presented a brief overview of the state of Christianity within their countries,
and I found it really touching and amazing.
There are so many people out there that haven't had the chance to know about God,
and are lacking spiritually, financially and morally,
yet they are some who allowed God into their lives to change them,
and all these really brought tears into my eyes.
There is so much that needs to be done, and so many that we need to reach out to.
I feel as if I have a calling, that I really need to be part of God's plan in spreading His gospel.
I don't know how strong I am when it comes to God,
but after watching the video, I feel as if it would be really cool if I could join a mission trip, and tell others about my God.
By the way, I finally decided today that I should go for the overseas church camp instead of my overseas trip.
Maybe it was the video that pulled me out from my hesitation.
I realize that there are much better things to do that going on a holiday, like being involved in a church camp.
It is a rare opportunity, and I really pray that I would be able to gain much from it, as well as grow closer to my churchmates.
I don't regret it, at all.
A church teacher said that youths nowadays do not seem to understand the essence of Christianity.
We are too blessed in our daily lives,
that we forget that they are many out there, who face insufficiency every single day, and have not heard about our God,
but become too preoccupied with ourselves.
How our church looks so great, with fantastic facilities and stuff,
but that should not be the reason why we go to church.
Church should be a place where you put aside everything,
and concentrate on God and God only,
and at the same time, you'll become more aware that maybe all this money should be going to people who need them more.
Proverbs 30:
7 "Lord, I ask you for two things.
Don't refuse me before I die.
8 Keep lies far away from me.
Don't make me either poor or rich,
but give me only the bread I need each day.
9 If you don't, I might have too much.
Then I might say I don't know you.
I might say, 'Who is the Lord?'
Or I might become poor and steal.
Then I would bring shame to the name of my God.
I pray that I will never stray from this path of light,
that God will give me strength to survive every single day,
and keep me away from temptations and sin.
Sometimes, when we have to much in our lives,
we tend to get arrogant and forget that God is the one that brought us so far,
and that we don't need God.
But I pray that God will give me what I need, to do His good works,
that everything I do will be to glorify Him, and not myself or whomever.

God loves you.
every single one of you out there.
no matter who you are,
where you've come from,
or even what you've done.
so don't hold back or even hesitate,
but believe. and feel the vast love He has for us.
Hillsong - So You Would ComeBefore the world began
You were on His mind
And every tear you cry
Is precious in His eyes
Because of His great love
He gave His only Son
Everything was done
So you would come
Nothing you can do
Could make Him love you more
And nothing that you've done
Could make Him close the door
Because of His great love
He gave His only Son
Everything was done
So you would come
Come to the Father
Though your gift is small
Broken hearts, broken lives
He will take them all
The power of the Word
The power of His blood
Everything was done
So you would come

-8:33 AM
Do you find yourself very susceptible to the temptations around you?
You're definitely not alone in that,
because it is so often that we give in to our desires, even when knowing that it is wrong.
While self-discipline is very important in our daily lives,
it is equally important in our Christian life.
"Whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down, without walls." --Proverbs 25:28
We must learn to strengthen our 'walls', in order to live a holy life.
"Since an overseer is entrusted with God's work, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain.
Rather he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined.
He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it." --Titus 1:7-9
To do God's work, we must have the same rigid self-discipline that causes us to stick firmly to the cause we are fighting for and believe in.
We cannot let our humanly faults hinder us from telling others about the message of God,
so let's makes our lives living testimonies of our wondrous God above.

-7:55 AM
The Bible occasionally gives us a brief description of what Heaven is like,
and it sounds more amazing and beautiful than anything on this Earth.
It's very pleasing to know that we are heading towards such a wondrous place,
and not the burning coals of Hell.
We are so sinful and unholy in comparison to God,
why does He even bother about us, and even send Jesus to die for us?
Sometimes the things I do make me feel really so shameful,
but God still has not forsaken me.
The Lord wants willing volunteers, people who want to serve Him.
Living a life serving God is definitely not going to be easy,
but there is just so much to do, like the lost non-believers,
how can we not even do anything, considering that God has done so much for us?
Pray that God will open our eyes and hearts to the people around us,
and that we will be able to feel this passion and need to serve Him.
A detailed analysis of Isaiah 6:

-1:10 AM
Even as Christians,
each of us encounter our problems that drive us to the brink of insanity.
But when God gave them to us, He wanted us to grow from them,
and not simply accept them as failures in life.
You may question why we aren't different from non-believers in this sense?
Why do some of the strongest Christians face the biggest challenges in life?
If anything, it is to build up their faith,
and for them to be a testimony for God, so others can learn from it.
"In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted" -- 2 Timothy 3:12
Many times, we really cannot understand why God does certain things,
we really shouldn't complain or try to get our way,
but accept that He has greater plans that we may not see yet.
Everything that happens, let's just leave them to God,
because our task is to glorify God, no matter what.
-12:51 AM
Even heard of the song, "
Before the world began, you were on his mind"?
Before we have even came into this Earth, God has thought everything through for us,
He has mapped out our entire life, every single detail.
Jesus came down to Earth to save us, and He died on the cross for us soon after.
Has it ever strike you that it would be so much better if Jesus was still here,
then He would be able to show the world Himself
that He is the true God worthy of our praise,
and He can guide us along the path of righteousness,
and solve all our problems for us.
But it's amazing to think that God had prepared us for all this.
He gave us the Bible, which tells us everything that happened in the past,
the miracles, parables, and words of wisdom,
it's almost like God's speaking to us and teaching us how to live our lives.
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." -- 2 Timothy 3:16-17
And God told us that He lives in our heart,
and He's always next to us.
It's so assuring to hear that, seriously, what is there to fear if God is with me?
He warns us, "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days." (2 Timothy 3:1)
But this is not going to affect us,
because we have God's words and teachings deeply rooted in our hearts.
Let us not stray from His path, or even waver,
but remain faithfully steadfast to the true God.

-12:48 AM
While we live through our mundane lives,
we often get despondent with our situation,
disappointed by the people around us,
and angry with ourselves.
There are so many worries bothering us,
that we get so overwhelmed by it all,
and we start saying how we hate life,
and that we are all heading downhill
with no sight of the light at the end of the tunnel.
By the Lord tells us to
"set [our] minds on things above, not on earthly things." (Colossians 3:2)
Maybe we should take a break from whining about our lives,
it does not mean we stop striving for the best because it seems impossible,
but we should always keep heaven in sight.
We must know that God has laid out His plans for us,
and is preparing a wonderful Heaven for us to live in after we die,
and there is just so much more
than these so-called 'troubles' burdening us.
Let's keep in mind that our lives on this Earth is only temporary,
it is not going to be an 'end' we are heading towards,
but rather, we are all awaiting the 'beginning' God has prepared for us.

Planetshakers sing, 'Send Me'
send me i will go
send me i will
to this city, to this nation
and to the nations of the world
send me i will go
send me i will go
i will proclaim the truth
that Jesus Christ is Lord
i stand before you pleading from my heart
that by your spirit you would set me apart
to bring good news and liberty
to see this nation on its knees
i cry out for every family
you'd open blind eyes and set people free
that as a nation we would turn back to you
and see revivel sweep this land
as we humble ourselves
and seek your face
fall on our knees
turn from our ways
you will hear our cry
wipe our sins away
come and heal our land we pray
Send Me, O Lord.
Tell me what to do, show me the way,
tell me what I must do for you.
I am in a dilemma right now,
I'm wondering if I should go for my holiday, or our Malacca church camp.
Maybe the answer seems obvious to you, but my heart is undecided.
There are millions many reasons why I want to go for my holiday,
but I don't want to miss a chance to get closer to God or my churchmates.
Lord, tell me which to choose,
I'll listen and do whatever you want me to.

Christians often say, 'Let God's will be done, not mine.'
But how much do we mean it?
I wonder how many of us can wholeheartedly surrender their lives to God,
and trust him without a doubt.
Even if we have an unbreakable faith,
we often have these selfish thoughts that are pulling us back.
Are we willing to submit ourselves to a life of poverty and suffering for the sake of God?
Are we willing to give up our loved ones, our luxurious life, everything we possess, for God?
How far are we willing to go?
When we pray, we always think of ourselves. what we want, or not want.
But do we remember to thank Him every single day for all the blessings He has showered upon us?
Or ever thought about what God wanted us to do?
It may be hard to drop everything, and put them into God's hands, while we follow His lead.
However, what we have, is what He has given us.
He went through so much to die for us,
shouldn't we be doing more than just living our lives?

Five Loaves and Two Fishes; Corrinne May A little boy of thirteen
was on his way to school
He heard a crowd of people laughing
and he went to take a look
Thousands were listening
to the stories of one man
He spoke with such wisdom,
even the kids could understand
The hours passed so quickly
the day turned to night
Everyone was hungry
but there was no food in sight
The boy looked in his lunchbox
at the little that he had
He wasn't sure what good it'd do
there were thousands to be fed
But he saw the twinkling eyes of Jesus
the kindness in His smile
and the boy cried out
with the trust of a child
he said:"
Take my five loaves and two fishes
Do with it as you will I surrender
Take my fears and inhibitions
All my burdens, my ambitions
You can use it all
to feed them all"
I often think about that boy
when I'm feeling small
land I worry that the work I do
means nothing at all
But every single tear I cry
is a diamond in His hands
and every door that slams in my face
I will offer up in prayer
So I'll give you every breath that I have
Oh Lord, you can work miracles
All that you need is my "Amen"
Take my five loaves and two fishes
Do with it as you will I surrender
Take my fears and inhibitions
All my burdens, my ambitions
You can use it all
I hope it's not too small
I trust in you I trust in you
Take my five loaves and two fishes
Do with it as you will I surrender
Take my fears and inhibitions
All my burdens, my ambitions
You can use it all
no gift is too small

The world we live in is a superficial one.
We judge others by their appearances, and form first impressions from them.
I believe none of us can honestly deny the fact that we are often biased towards better-looking people, and are more keen to make friends with them.
Although we know inside that it is horribly unfair, it is simply human nature that we constantly form opinions about others based on their looks.
But God tells us, "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at his heart." (1 Samuel 16:7)
How, can we cultivate such a pure heart?
It is not easy, especially when I constantly nitpick on the flaws of others every day of my life,
but maybe we should give others a chance,
look at them beyond the surface,
and maybe, we may discover something more beautiful that what we may think possible.
It's more about the lives we lead, than the appearances we portray.

Before Jesus died on the cross, he said,
"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." (Luke 23:34)
Every day of my life, I look up to my Father above, with admiration and awe.
His compassion and forgiving heart is really beyond what man can ever comprehend.
Why would He even die for us, coming down to Earth to suffer for us, so as to rid us of our sins?
when so many of us aren't even grateful, choosing to go our own way and continue living a sinful life.
I think one of my greatest faults, is being unable to put things down, forgive and forget.
My strong sense of injustice, coupled with bitterness, causes me to be very critical to the faults of others.
I know this isn't right, but I still find it hard to just let go of things at times.
I pray that I can change, but I should really try, on my part.
Maybe harboring resentment all the time won't solve the problem,
maybe I should just take a step back
and things may look different after all.
Fairness? Let God do the rest.
When the end comes, those who do good will be rewarded accordingly.
I'm not going to do good just because of the reward,
but I'm going to lead a Holy life,
because I love my Lord, and I want to be a good reflection of Him,
and why focus on the unimportant, when there are greater things mapped out for me,
and if we don't do good now, then when?
